REMEMBRANCE DAY NORTH VANCOUVER

Burrard Yacht Club Remembrance Day North Vancouver Ceremony

Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony held at Cates Park / Whey-ah-Whichen. Sponsored in partnership with the Burrard Yacht Club, The District of North Vancouver, and North Vancouver Recreation & Culture.

Club members are invited to join us at 10:30 on Tuesday November 11th on shore or off Roche Point in Cates Park to remember the members of our armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

Following the service members and guests of the Burrard Yacht Club and the Deep Cove Yacht Club are invited to come back to the BYC Clubhouse where a light lunch will be served and the bar will be open for refreshments.

Maritime Remembrance Day ceremonies place special emphasis on remembering the sacrifices made by members of the Navy and Merchant Navy. Burrard Yacht Club’s tradition of holding a Maritime Remembrance Day Ceremony dates back to the 1930’s when the Burrard Yacht Club was located in Coal Harbour. When Burrard Yacht Club relocated to North Vancouver in 1977, the Maritime Remembrance Ceremony moved to the waters off Roche Point.
