Pender Harbour – Garden Bay

The BYC outstation is located on the northwest corner of Garden Bay in Pender Harbour (look for the dock in front of the Quonset hut with the blue roof). There is a total of 240 ft of moorage using both the inside and outside of the dock. Rafting of vessels is permitted on the outside in accordance with Outstation Regulation 23.

Please reserve this space on the outside dock for larger vessels if you can safely use the inside dock. Tenders must be moored on the inside dock area and must not impede yacht dockage in an otherwise useable space. Guest’s vessels are not permitted at this outstation. There are 5 - 15 amp power outlets on the dock for a fee of $4/night payable by sign in sheet. One outlet per vessel please. Water is available on the dock but must be used conservatively during the summer months. Members may top up tanks but boat washing is not permitted. Wireless internet is available. This outstation is different from other BYC outstations, we are in a residential neighborhood and we must respect our neighbours. If members negatively impact our neighbours, it will put this outstation in jeopardy and offending behaviors will be dealt with firmly with possible loss of outstation privileges. Keep noise down after 10:00 pm.

The entire facility is ours and therefore we are responsible for its use and cleanliness. There are a number of additional amenities that we don’t have at any other outstation. If you use the facilities please take care of them clean up after yourselves, your guests, your kids and your pets. The buildings, grounds and decks are all communal except for 6 pre-reserved sleeping cabins & rooms. The main house has two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, three bedrooms and a laundry. Along the deck are three additional sleeping cabins and an additional bathroom with tub and shower. Members staying on their boats are requested to use the “Deck Bathroom”. The outstation is on a septic system so please limit water use. Parking for up to six cars is available on the driveway. The driveway holds a max of 6 cars and vehicle owners must be present at the outstation (you cannot leave your car there while you go boating). Local bylaws forbid parking on the road.

A "Bear Proof" garbage bin is available on the driveway. Make sure the lid is secured. A barbeque is available on the deck. Smoking is not permitted in any of the buildings or on the decks. Children must be supervised at all times. Cabin 6 (the small Quonset hut) is designated as pet friendly. Pets are not allowed inside any of the other buildings. Pets must be on a leash at all times and owners are required to pick up after them. A doggie bag dispenser has been installed on the lower level.

The kitchen is stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots, glasses, etc. If you use it, please clean it up. Water is metered, and therefore we must observe all municipal water restrictions.
